Bodywork Therapies: Abhyanga, Shirodhara
Jessica Snyder’s first passion in life was dance.
She grew up with a great love for dance and music, both of
which she sees as healing arts, and eventually found her
way to the healing arts of herbal medicine and bodywork.
In 1999 she moved to Albuquerque, NM to attend the New Mexico
School of Natural Therapeutics. Here she studied therapeutic
massage, polarity therapy, homeopathy, herbal medicine, flower
essence therapy, core synchronism and the philosophy of nature
cure. After completing this program she began her practice
as a licensed massage therapist in New Mexico.
Jessica’s continued interest in traditional forms
of healing led her next to train as a hatha yoga teacher
and she began her studies in Ayuryoga, which joins the two
sister sciences of India, Ayurveda and Yoga. She has taught
yoga classes and workshops over the last 6 years and continues
to do private therapeutic yoga sessions. She has completed
two years of studies at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque,
where she also worked doing Ayurvedic bodywork in the Pancha
Karma Department. In her practice she incorporates the various
modalities she has learned over the years, offering a holistic
approach to attaining and maintaining a balanced way of living.
Jessica enjoys being witness to and assisting nature in
re-establishing balance in each person she comes in contact
with. She is forever grateful for the gifts of the natural
world in providing us with all we need to heal ourselves
and feels her greatest teacher is Mother Nature.
