Abhyanga: Ayurvedic Oil Massage
During Abhyanga, warmed herbal oils (selected according to the client’s constitution) are generously massaged into the entire body. The oil deeply penetrates the skin; relaxing the body, mind and nervous system. Abhyanga helps to remove toxins, stimulate circulation and enhances the immune system. It is deeply relaxing and nourishing. The Sanskrit word for oil and love is the same and to receive Abhyanga is to receive the effects of saturation with pure love.

What is AYURVEDA?
Ayurveda is known as the science of life. The healing system of Ayurveda has been passed on for thousands of years from the ancient texts of India, known as the Vedas. It is a sister science to yoga. Ayurveda defines health as being established within the self. Through Ayurveda we learn to understand our own unique constitution or nature and the elements or qualities that we possess. Once we become grounded in understanding our own nature we begin to see reflections of the same qualities that we possess in all our surroundings. By understanding this connection between the inner and outer worlds, Ayurveda teaches us how to create and maintain balance. We learn how to make adjustments internally to stay in balance with our external environment, and vice versa. Through diet, lifestyle, daily routine, herbs, various forms of bodywork and cleansing techniques, Ayurveda can be effective in helping to bring and maintain physical, mental,
emotional and spiritual wellness.
